The Curious Case of DJ Kool's Let Me Clear My Throat
Honest question. Was there any hypothetical scenario where Drake would have won the beef? Or was he inevitable destined to fail?
Instead of having a presidential debate of the two candidates whose brain is quickly becoming mush. Let's have a rap debate between Kendrick and Drake. They would have to freestyle answers from the questions of a moderator.
"THE REAL TREASURE IS THE 🍖BEEF🍖 WE MADE ALONG THE WAY!"
9:16 Thank god you talked about it Moth! Almost everyone who heard the song gave it a pass. I am glad I am not the only one who felt he was a transphobic ass for saying it.
Any chance Mues is single because god he sounds so hot
Metro was the funniest casualty
Metro's jokes were from 2011-2015. They were all very stupid and edgy, as was the custom at the time, and he probably should have deleted them a long time ago, but unless there was actual behavior involved the hashtag seems a bit much.
If I were Drake and I heard "meet the grahams," I would immediately call the government of New Zealand and buy Disappointment Island, move there, and never reenter society again
I did not know Mues is trans until today. Then again I don't watch the G.O podcast and the only content from her I have watched is the Worst Kidz Bop Lyrics and Worst Eminem Lyrics videos which were like a decade ago atp.
10:30, one other transphobic thing that Drake says outta nowhere is the “where’s your uncle at? i wanna talk to the man of the house” (at least i think he’s referring to Auntie Diaries)
Crying about transphobia was all i needed to hear. Trash review channel.
The R. Kelly point isn’t even remotely valid though. For one it wasn’t Kendrick who threatened to delist his catalogue it was the label and two it was because of how arbitrary the criteria for removing someone’s music from DSP’s would be if it was allowed to go through. It would have set a very bad precedent moving forward on how to handle artist allegations.
Drake been fucks dogs yall.
The reason why the Virginia Williams line in the Pusha T beef was a big deal is she wasn’t a public figure and Drakes fans harassed her off the internet
Man got the wrong van
Thank you for bringing up the contrived aspect of the "mother i" section... Feel like that gets over looked because of him misunderstanding the song but absolute cornball shit
I refuse to believe K-dot wasn’t ready to merc J-Cole too. My beef conspiracy: What does Kendrick know about J-Cole? To me, he backed out to avoid skeletons in his closet.
i thought he was clever with the B sharp! and D flat
Kendrick didn't threaten to pull his music over R Kelly, it was over XXXtentacion
I haven't watched Rap Critic and Mues in years so its a little bit of s suprise to hear Muse transitioned but congrats, that makes me so happy to hear.
Kendrick performed musical judo. He took every bit of weight and momentum Drake had and flipped it against him, and The Heart Part 6 is Drake, pinned to the ground, lightly tapping his foot against the hand Kendrick is using to chokehold him and being like “haha, fool, I planned you crushing my larynx!”
The teen choice winner lost to the Pulitzer Prize winner? Color me shocked.
The Beef Diss-Course continues. . .
bro you're going FAST on this one
The reason the Virginia Williams line was received in such a way is bc DRAKE said it. You know, "Every time I say a woman's name in my music, it's to either claim her as a sexual conquest to berate her, to get at her current partner (who I may or may not even actually have beef with) by implying infidelity, or to clown her for not being with me" Drake. It's 90% of the way he talks about women in his music that aren't his mom. He a "Nice Guy" fr fr. The worst kind of fuckboy. And a damn near 40 year old one at that 🙄
My Band. Damn bro. Shit yourself. Like, I always sing along to my salsa!
People don't care about surgeries, its the fact thay Drake wants to portray himself as this hardworking, got it on my own person, and then turns around and has a lot of work done. Drake not being real with himself is the issue. The surgery and how he handles it is just another metaphor for his inauthenticity.
Plus all the shit he gave meghan the stallion, saying she'd had work done when he has himself. Such a hypocrit 🙄
“ I can put a rapper on life support but I’m sure that’s something that none of you want “ he been planning to end his career yearsssss ago
Im so glad you agree on the b sharp line. The amount of reactors acting like that is some dagger bar that destroyed kendrick was so shocking to me lol
I didn’t get all that excited neither. I just thought “Eh, that’s an alright rebuttal I guess” until I realized B sharp isn’t even a thing lol
@@smaaron_j_46 be careful, you might get the music theory majors in here talking about how it's relative and technically does exist in super specific scales
This is where I’ll end giving my energy to this fake beef
Yeah Kendrick not responding to The Heart Part 6 is the most damning response he could have
The bbl isn’t making fun of drake to make fun of. It’s a criticism. He talks about women’s bbl and body shames them but he’s a hypocrite because he’s had work done
And 🐕🐕🐕🐕
"you thought you left d-flat? D-MAAAAJOR" I cringed so hard. That's his response to A-MINOOOOOR???
It's like he heard the a minor line and said "sweet I'll just come up with a few chord puns to flip that"... Like it being a bad dad joke is not the reason people like the bar
That rapey comment from 2013 has me hesitant too. 2013 is around the time that Shane Dawson was doing blackface and making grooming/rape/pedo jokes all the time. Was it a remnant of that, or was it him feeling like it was actually ok to do/something he actually did…
I'm not a drake fan, but I feel like the biggest issue with all of this is that Drake doesn't think about his rap responses. I don't think he thought about his raps. He could have easily countered with calling out Kendrick's belief system and using the beef as a means to address the cancerous thought process that that belies, but NOOOOOOO talk about his wife smh.
You're right, BBL Drizzy doesn't think about his raps, he let' his ghost writers do that for him
i agree b sharp is corny, but if he did it correctly it woulda been good. it doesnt exist, so if he used it to refer to the “daughter” “lie” he “manipulated” in wouldve been a pretty dope line
kendrick is the one with the transphobic line “we hate the bitches you fuck cause they confuse themselves with real women” it’s either transphobic, body shaming, or claiming white women aren’t real women so which one is the savior saying?
Wasn't that a reference to Adonis' mother? She was a pornstar, and a gold digger (if you wanna put it that way)
Also why do people keep calling Kendrick a saviour? He literally said don't treat him like one, he's cheated on his wife, worked with Kodak etc. That's like calling Eminem a drug addict in 2024
The R.Kelly thing wasnt as bad in context
I also think the A Minor/B Sharp line was trash, but why do most people ignore it when Kendrick does it? Playing with the notes is corny as fuck, but it was too when Kendrick said it and everybody keeps gassing it.
Kendrick's delivery sells it. It's like how a joke said by a competent comedian can sound amazing, while someone like you or me can try delivering the same joke and it'll sound awful.
On Euphoria, Kendrick says "Let things get shaky. I'll Park His Son" like Parkinson. Which is kinda cringe in a clever way, and not as bad as the poop bar that Drake uses to enter Taylor Made Freestyle. I thought that was the only reference to Adonis on Euphoria
You're wrong, it was on euphoria
@@mj-f7135 My fault, it was 5:02 into Euphoria
I can't think of anyone that could beat Kendrick in this format 🤔🤔
Mother I Sober is a song about how trauma lead to paranoia, which lead to someone making false accusations of abuse at basically random people with no evidence. It is EXACLTY the song Drake needed to flip Kendrick's whole narrative, the blueprint was RIGHT THERE. I swear, it's like someone appeared to Drake in a dream, told him the secret to beating Kendrick lay in that song, and then Drake half listened to it while checking his emails, and went entirely the wrong direction with it. I can just imagine his guardian angel listening to the track with their head in their hands.
Drake fumbles so bad it comes off like, "maybe Drake is genuinely a narcissist?"
NEW RAP CRITIC🔥🔥🔥
About the R. Kelly thing. It was TDE that did it and it was more about how selective they are on race concerning pdf files and music. I do still think it’s dumb since the response should be to pull other music not threaten to keep Kelly’s. If I was Drake I would’ve went at KDot like he’s QAnon. Using the black Israelite thing from DAMN. It’s a stretch considering the revelation at the beginning of DUCKWORTH. but it’s a better lane than what he chose.
Also just wanna give a shout to Drake just casually being transphobic by saying he wants to talk to Kendrick's Uncle. Which is a reference to Auntie Diaries where Kendrick talks about his trans Aunt
The opposite, his uncle is FTM. Drake was being surprisingly pro trans
@@theanimerapper6351 Exactly. He intentionally didn't missgender his uncle and reaffirmed his gender by saying he's the man of the house. How is treating the uncle as he prefers suddenly transphobic?
@@albema2 OP prolly just got shit twisted and just assumed drake was being a dickhead in a diss song
@@theanimerapper6351 if anything, it’s more of an insult towards Kendrick saying that his uncle is more of a man than Kendrick is. Which, ouch 💀
